Live translation in Thai, or on Android, without AirPods

Apple's Live Translation works through AirPods and an iPhone, and Thai is not on its list. Nualingo runs in the browser on one phone, Android or iPhone. Both of you speak to the phone, and it shows the translation and reads it aloud.

What AirPods Live Translation needs

This comes from Apple's own pages, as of October 2026. Live Translation needs an iPhone 15 Pro or later with Apple Intelligence turned on, and supported AirPods, such as AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation or AirPods Pro 2 and Pro 3. The person wearing the AirPods hears the other person translated; the other person reads or hears the translation on the iPhone. It covers about ten languages, counting regional variants, and Thai is not one of them. There is no Android version.

What you get with Nualingo

  • Nothing to buy. It runs in the browser on the phone you already have, and the other person installs nothing.
  • You do not need earbuds. The phone sits between you, shows each sentence in both languages and reads the translation aloud.
  • Thai is one of the 60 languages, and English to Thai is one of the pairs we have tried in a real conversation.
  • A conversation is kept only if you choose to keep it, and you can delete it later.

When AirPods Live Translation is the better choice

If you already have a supported iPhone and AirPods, and both of your languages are on Apple's list, try Live Translation first. It costs nothing more, and the translation goes straight into your ear. Nualingo is for the conversations it leaves out: Thai, Android phones, and families where nobody owns the right hardware.
