One phone, two languages, no turn-taking
Nualingo listens to both of you at once, works out who is speaking, and shows each person's words in the other's language. Here is what happens from the first tap to the last word.
Pick your two languages
Choose yours and theirs from 60. Each appears in its own script, so the other person can check theirs is right before you begin.
- Your last pair is remembered
- A short notice tells both people an AI voice is interpreting
Put the phone between you
Lay it flat on the table, speaker on, or give each person one earphone. Nobody needs to press anything to take a turn.
- The screen stays on while you talk
- Captions for the far side can be turned to face them

Talk as you normally would
Captions appear while you speak. When you pause, a calm voice reads the translation aloud. Press Stop when you have finished.
- Turn the voice off for captions only, which counts at half time
- Slow the pace for older listeners or noisy rooms

Set it up the way the room needs
Across a table
Flat between you with the speaker on. The far half of the screen can flip to face the other person.
Side by side
Hold the phone between you on a sofa or a bench. Both read the same captions.
One earphone each
For cafés and trains. Share a pair of earphones: you both hear every translation quietly, without disturbing anyone nearby.
Captions only
Voice off for quiet places. Time counts at half, so your hours go further.
Good to know
- Does the other person need the app?
- No. They only need to talk. Everything happens on your phone.
- How does it know who is speaking?
- It listens for which of your two languages is being spoken and switches direction by itself.
- How long until the voice speaks?
- A moment after the speaker pauses. You can choose a slower or faster pace in settings.
- Is the conversation recorded?
- No. Words are translated as you go and then discarded, unless you switch on saving before you start.
- Can I use it for a doctor or a lawyer?
- Please don't. Nualingo can make mistakes. Use a professional interpreter for medical, legal or official matters.
